3:00 PM - 4:00 PMRediscovering Ancestral Morals in the Fight against Fraud: A Call for Cultural Awareness
Over the Past few decades, we all have witnessed a significant shift in cultural values and moral standards, particularly in ways that contrast with the positive, time-honoured morals of our ancestors. This presentation explores these changes, with a specific focus on their impact on efforts to combat fraud. Those who engage in this fight must be not only vigilant but also deeply aware of the moral erosion that is taking place.

Through the lens of Malagasy proverbs and local wisdom, this presentation will highlight how ancestral teachings — rooted in integrity, honor, and collective responsibility — can serve as a foundation for reversing the tide of moral decline. This presentation asserts that local problems often require local solutions, a belief encapsulated in the saying "Think globally, act locally."

By drawing parallels between ancestral wisdom and modern challenges, this presentation encourages a rediscovery of the positive cultural roots that can inspire change. It also emphasises the importance of creating new narratives that uphold ethical values and accountability.
