Henry Baden Wiggill

Acting Lead: Cyber Forensic Laboratory at Special Investigating Unit (SIU)

Baden Wiggill has been involved with Digital Forensics for the past 15 years and heads up the Cyber Forensics Laboratory of the Special Investigating Unit. He has over 34 years of experience in law enforcement, which includes SAPS, SARS and SIU. He holds a BCom (Hons) degree in Information Systems, from the University of Cape Town (UCT). He is also a Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE), a Certified Advanced Windows Forensic Examiner (CAWFE), and an AccessData Certified Examiner (ACE). He is also a member of the International Association of Computer Investigative Specialists and a peer review coach in their CFCE process. His expertise extends to the legal aspects of Digital Forensics, including knowledge of laws, rules, and legal requirements relating to obtaining evidence, search and seizures, and providing digital forensic services. He has worked closely with the Cyber Experts of the French Embassy, collaborating on the development of Cyber Forensic tools and training, such as the First Responder Course. He also lectures from time to time at the University of Pretoria on their Investigation and Management of Cyber and Electronic Crime course. Baden has recently been elected as the Vice Chair for the ACFE SA Cyber Steering Committee.
