All ACFE members are subject to its Code of Professional Ethics and the membership Bylaws. Additionally, CFEs must adhere to the CFE Code of Professional Standards. This course will provide an overview of these rules and the latest amendments to them, as well as explain the Disciplinary Procedures that govern investigations of alleged violations.

Professionals in the field of fraud examination face many ethical challenges that require critical analysis and informed decision-making. This presentation explores these challenges through real-life case studies, drawing upon the expertise of seasoned practitioners and industry leaders. The Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE) Code of Professional Ethics and Standards provides a framework for ethical decision-making, which is examined within the context of each case study. Topics covered include conflicts of interest, confidentiality breaches, ethical lapses in investigations, and the temptation of fraudulent behaviour.
